With Dad scheduled to arrive to begin working on the new nursery we thought it would be neat to take some "before" pictures.

Grandpa spent four days scraping wallpaper, washing down the walls, patching and sanding, painting the room Lemon Drop yellow, and hanging up the hardware for the new curtains.

Jacqui got the paint back out, taped up the trim again, and did some touch-up work to Grandpa's paint job.

With the paint dry, Jacqui set to work putting together Bean's crib.  After the initial scare of not finding the assembly instructions where they belonged, Jacqui (with some help from Sharon) got the crib set and ready. 

With a lot of help from Grandpa and Grandma Bixby, we added the wallpaper border to the room.  It looks great and matches the paint and carpeting just right. 

After a lot of work the nursery really seems to be coming together.  The paint, border and curtains all work together so well and we just love the Alphabet Soup decor. 

 

 

We added the dresser/changing table and a super comfy glider chair to the nursery. Now the room is really starting to look complete with all the major pieces in place.

Bean's crib is assembled and made up with the Alphabet Soup bedding. The mobile is installed and ready to entertain Bean.

We got an organizing system at Target, with storage bins in coordinating colors. Now most of Bean's toys and things are neatly stored away. We decorated the open shelves with some of his other toys.

Bean's closet is fully stocked with books, diapers, and more cute clothes than one little boy needs in his first year.

The changing table/dresser is full of pjs and we have the the diaper cream and wipes we need. We'll be ready for diaper changes and feedings when he gets here.

Jacqui's parents came over to help us decide where to put up these wall hangings.
